Another fun Pinterest Idea

As some of you know and some of you don't my baby girl is going into Grade 12 this year. Don't ask how that happened as I am not quite sure. They just keep growing up on me! As a scrapbooker I love taking pictures to document everything, her grad year will be no different! I spend far too much time on Pinterest so I thought it was time to make my time spent useful. While the boys were away for a short camping trip without us the girls set to crafting.
Here is the picture I pinned from Pinterest......
The link was just to a silk flower weeding page with no more photos but here is the link.
Not much information to go on but we worked together.
First we bought tons of flowers from Dollarama. We took them all apart, then my baby girl hot glued them back together but added more layers in for each flower to make them fuller. Then I set to work with a needle and thread and an elastic band as the base. Here is what they looked like in the end. We needed to make two so that her best friend could have a matching one too!
Here is how it turned out! Beautiful if I do say so!

Enjoy! Chris

Ivy Lane Lovely

The funny thing about the Ivy lane paper is when I first saw it I thought it is so formal how am I going to use it? So I said to myself think outside the box. This is a series of photos I took of my ballerina daughter in the middle of the winter with her pointe shoes on in the snow. Don't worry I made her wear an old pair. (one day I will post all the old ones she was hanging on the wall)

When I look at the picture I thought the pointe shoes and snow don't look like they go together so how about I make an out of the box selection on the paper too. I think the Ivy Lane paper ends up setting the photos off beautifully! How about you?

As always all the product can be found on my website- here.
Enjoy! Chris

I am sure you are aware by now that the current Spring/Summer Close To My Heart Idea Book is retiring at the end of July.  I can always tell what I am going to miss at this time because it is the "item or items" that I am hoarding. This time it was the Lollydoodle collection. I love it all! I put together a mini album that was inspired by one that Vicki Wizniuk made from the "Free to Be Me Collection" - here is a link. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to try something similar. So I set to work.

My summer album is a Flip Stand Album! Sometimes I think people just flip (no pun intended) right by them in the Idea Book they are on page 77 and only $12.95. What a deal!
The first thing I did was an an overlay from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to the back insert.
Then I set to designing the flip pages, they are mostly from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge. My husband picked out all the photos he wanted featured as it is for his desk at work. He changes the top page everyday depending on his mood. There is even a page where I am featured. I am trying to remember to add myself into my projects!

Enjoy! Chris

Some Lollydoodle Loving!

Here is a cute layout featuring the Close To My Heart "Lollydoodle" paper. The paper is so fun and I love how it matches my daughters cast. She had surgury last summer and decided that one of her cast would need to be hot pink. This layout is her sweet sixteen birthday. Just how you want to spend it with a cast to your arm pit!LOL! She was such a good sport and her brother even picked out fun balloons to match her cast.
The stacked cake is a fun cut from the Cricut Artbooking. I love how it all came together, including the shimmer trim because everyone should have a little glitter when they turn 16!
Enjoy! Chris

A Favorite Layout

When the Spring/Summer Idea book came out from Close to My Heart in January and I saw the layout on page 95.

I knew I had to try my hand at it. There were just so many things I loved about it, the colours, the hexagon and the overlay!
I have just been waiting to come across the right photos for it. I think I found them and this is how it turned out.

I made some changes to make it my own but I love everything about the page. My ladies at Scrapper's Club loved it too everyone was very excited to try their hand at it too this month. All the items needed to complete this page are currnetly available on my website but some will be gone at the end of the month! So make sure to check it out.

Ingredients: Cocoa Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock, Colonial White Cardstock, Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment, Teal Shimmer Trim, Honeycomb Stamp set, Keyboard Uppercase, Bitty Sparkles, Ink Pads- Sweet Leak, Bamboo, Cocoa, Lagoon, Desert Sand, and Olive, and Cricut Artbooking.
