Did you catch my live scrapbook class last week?

 Last week as I promised I created a scrapbooking page that was inspired by one of the cards in the Serenity Cardmaking Workshop from Close to My Heart. First I assembled the card exactly as the directions read. Then because you all know I can not stop creating -😂 I recreated the cardmaking workshop with the Lovely collection. Here is how those cards turned out.

During the video I thought it might be fun to then take one of the cards and use it as inspiration for a scrapbook layout. I also did that as a live class I will add the video at the end. But here is how the scrapbooking layout turned out.

It was so much fun to create!! I asked them if they might me interested in a sketch?? They thought that would be a great idea. So....I have created a sketch so you will be able to re-create the layout using products from your own stash!!

Serenity Cardmaking Workshop

 Have you had a chance to check out the Serenity Cardmaking workshop from Close to My Heart? Serenity is the featured collection for December and I always like to play along! The great thing about this product is everything you need to create the 16 cards arrives on your doorstep all in one bag, all ready to start creating.

This week I took some time to cut and assemble the workshop. I even created them live on my business Facebook page- HERE. I have been trying my best to teach a few times live each week, to help inspire everyone who is trying to stay at home more.

They are stunning!! I did switch a few things up, add a bit of splatter and used Clear Shimmer Brush on the watercolour pencil, and I added some extra embellishments 😁 (just because I can).

Quarentine Christmas cards

 Where are all my peeps that did some Black Friday shopping ? I grabbed a few things, they have arrived and I had some fun playing with the Quarentine Christmas stamp set. I decided to take the Jingle Joy cardmaking workshop and mix it up. I changed the Distress Oxide and did some smooshing, added a bunch of Shimmer brush and Stickles!!

Perfect Match Scrapbooking Workshop

 How fun is this ? It is time to take a look at a new workshop! This one is a scrapbooking workshop with a new collection called Perfect Match. It is a lovely romantic themed collection. Slimline card with the SOTM and a sketch

 Remember I promised I would post the slimline card that I created last week on my Facebook business page in a live class. It was such a fun class where I used the December SOTM called Happiness Never Grows Old from Close to My Heart. This stamp of the month has a great group of different floral images and a few great sentiments. The Stamp of the Month program is so great, when you have a qualifying order you can purchase it at a discount or even for free! More about that in a bit let's move onto the card.....

For this class, I took the Intense Black ink to stamp the floral images, coloured them with watercolour pencils but instead of using a paint brush with the pencils I used the Clear Shimmer Brush!! It is stunning in person.

The layers include, Toffee cardstock and Mix-in paper. The sentiment is stamped with the stunning colour of the year, Blue Belle!! 

I used a few of the Close to My Heart thin cuts in a novel way!! Make sure to watch the video!! 

Here is a close-up, where I added one of the Acrylic Hearts with Stickles Glitter Gel in Pink Taffeta. So pretty!!

There are floral combination of different sizes so you can find one that is perfect for you project, there are even single images that are great to tuck in all the little places. The sentiment will work well on a scrapbook layout or a card.

I asked the peeps on my Facebook Business page and my Creative Classroom and they voted!! Scrapbook layout won but don't worry it was close so I am going to create a card also on Friday! But now back to what I created today... it is a single Christmas themed layout.

I have to say I am very happy with the way that it turned out!! As I said you are welcome to go and check out the Facebook live class...just an FYI at the 1 hour mark there was a glitch but I do come back. It was very strange as I has not had any internet issues lately at all..so strange.

I stamped all the images with Black Intense ink, then used a water brush to colour all the flowers. I really wanted that watercolour effect, I also add just a tough of Platinum Stickles for a bit of sparkle!! I can tell you I am also in love with the new 6X6 stacks that CTMH has been releasing- (insert heart eye emoji here). Oh I almost forgot I even added a Flip Flap, so cute!

Jingle Joy Cardmaking Workshop

 

Have you seen the jingle Joy Cardmaking workshop yet? There is still time to knock out those Christmas cards! I think this is definitely a year where people need to be connecting more and in ways they might now have before. The great thing about this product is you get almost everything in the bag. There are directions and a cutting guide, the paper, card bases and envelopes and even an embellishment. 

I cut up all the papers and then even taught you how to create them live. I will add some video at the end of this post.

Let's talk about Album Retreat

 

This is one of my favourite Close to My Heart events!! I have been lucky enough to attend it in person in SLC twice. They know how to host an event my friends!! This used to be a consultant exclusive event that could sell out in a matter of an hour- seriously. But they made the decision to open this event up to everyone and now it is a Virtual event. 

There are several reason why I love it but here are just a few...

• everything arrives at your door pre-cut and ready to assemble
• the event takes place over 2 days on Facebook within a special group, so even if you can't attend live you have the ability to watch the re-play when it works for you
• there are always new techniques and so many tips along the way
• it makes me try things I wouldn't normal try
• at the end of the weekend you have a full album in page protectors ready for the album

Like I said these are just a few of the reasons I love it so much. Now we are getting to the point of my post... there is another event coming soon and you can join in all the fun! Here is a video that shows you all the details of the January Album Retreat.
